The mortgage loan insurance on its own is relatively inexpensive; however it can be more costly when you add critical illness insurance. The critical illness aspect of the mortgage loan insurance would cover you for up to 40 different pre determined critical illnesses. These are the serious illnesses that many of us suffer from and can seriously affect your ability to continue normally in your day to day life. The most claimed on critical illness normally is cancer and heart attack and stroke are normally a close second and third. This type of plan is designed to pay you a lump sum if you were to contract one of the critical illnesses and this would pay off your mortgage loan. Many people combine the two main types of protection the life insurance and the critical illness insurance to give them a very comprehensive plan. This can also be very cost effective as it often costs little more to add life insurance to your critical illness plan and in some cases it costs nothing at all. This would mean that the policy would pay on what ever occurred the first, whether it be a critical illness or you were to die. It would not pay twice only on the first event.
